“Due to significant production challenges, Starz has decided not to exercise the option for subsequent seasons of Camelot dvd box set with our production partners GK-tv, Octagon Films and Take 5 Productions,” the cabler explains in a statement cited by The Hollywood Reporter.
Deadline elaborates that among the challenges for the Ireland-based production were scheduling conflicts with some members of the cast, which was fronted by Joseph Feinnes, Jamie Campbell Bower and Eva Green
Camelot premiered in April to 1.13 million viewers and a 0.5 demo rating, making it Starz’s most-watched and highest-rated original series debut ever. That demo rating also bested Syfy’s Merlin that night, as the two similar-ish series faced off for the first time.
Come finale time, Camelot was pulling just north of a million viewers and a 0.4 rating.
