Proving that he’s more than just a reality star (?), the former Dancing With the Stars stud (?) has signed a series development deal with the network that made him famous, TVLine confirms.
“I’m excited to continue my relationship with MTV, which has been home for me for the last couple of years,” Sorrentino said in a statement to Variety, which first reported the news. “I’m really grateful for all the support from my fans. Hopefully, there will be plenty more situations in the future.”
Sorrentino is not currently attached to a specific project, but a pilot episode of whatever the Jersey standout has in mind is expected to shoot later this year.
The Situation isn’t alone in his alterna-Shore endeavors: Last month, MTV announced spinoffs for BFFs Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley, and Paul “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio, respectively. Both of those shows launch in 2012.
